Hey, My Real Intelligence May Not Be Much, but My Artificial Intelligence...

All right, time for a little experiment. Some time ago, I began experimenting with an A.L.I.C.E.-based A.I. system which I dubbed “Liam” (a variant on the name “William” which I’ve been known to use when feeling particularly pretentious). The project never really got off the ground, what with the difficulty of working on multiple platforms — and not really having the time to devote to it in the first place.

But now, thanks to Pandora Bots, I’ve set up a preliminary version of Liam once again. Just click on the link at the top of the page and you can have a conversation with my virtual counterpart. Right now, of course, he’s a little mixed up, seeing as how his personality is gradually being grafted onto the default robot identity. But with time, I’m hoping his responses will more closely approximate my own. To that end, give it a try, and let me know how it goes — the more feedback I have, the better I’ll be able to improve him.
