A True Demonstration of Heroism

Richard Cohen’s got a great column in last Friday’s Post about what really makes Jessica Lynch a hero: her steadfast refusal to play the part of propaganda tool. From the beginning, the Jessica Lynch story was one that set my teeth on edge — I mean, its manipulation into the stuff of war promotion was so ridiculously obvious. But situations like this remind me that there is a real story behind all the lies, and more importantly, a real person, and not just a puppet.
